Repurpose Decorating

Simple and stylish decor can make a big impact on your interior space! But, you don't need to buy all new items to have your home feel refreshed and new. I am constantly moving items around in my house. You can swap lamps from one room to another, change out nightstands, move books here and there to make a big impact. If you're not sure where to start, I'd start with something small. Below is the before and after of my buffet in my living room.

The picture to the left is from my living room. I was tired of the way my buffet was looking. So....I took some books that worked well together size wise and took the covers off. I then turned them to have the white pages showing. I added a candle that I had shoved in a cupboard. I do like the candle, but never had just the right place for it. Next, I moved the large jug vase from above my kitchen cabinets here. I did buy a few sprigs of faux eucalyptus to bring some greenery to the room. But, you could easily use real plants here. I have long talked about my black thumb...if you have a green thumb, I am jealous! All of this took less than 20 minutes and it totally transformed this space.

This is the before photo...ugh! It's so plain. You can see how such simple changes can really brighten up a space.
